2. Audio File Uploads — What Happens to Your Files

When you upload an audio file to BPMKeyFinder.com, the following happens:

Local reading. Your file is read from your device’s local storage into browser memory by the browser’s FileReader API. This is a local operation — the file does not travel over the internet at any point.

Local decoding. The file is decoded into an audio waveform representation (AudioBuffer) using the browser’s AudioContext.decodeAudioData() function. This decoding also happens locally within your browser.

Local analysis. The decoded audio is analysed for BPM and musical key using algorithms running in JavaScript within your browser. No audio data is sent to any external server or service.

Result display. The detected BPM, key, and Camelot Wheel notation are displayed on screen as text.

Session end. When you navigate away from the tool, close the browser tab, or reload the page, the AudioBuffer is cleared from browser memory. No audio data is retained in any form.

What BPMKeyFinder.com never does with your audio:
